Overexpression of Cat and Sod1 was carried out using the FLP-OUT system. Induction of the FLP1 recombinase with the heat-induced hsp70 promoter resulted in the removal of the stop sequence which acted like a blocker for Cat and/or Sod1's transcription. The study included 2 replicated experiments and 2 fly heterogeneous genetic backgrounds (T/D).
