    Both p38K?45 and MnSODn283 alleles heterozygous over a wild type allele had normal lifespans. However, a transheterozygous combination of these two alleles had a significantly reduced lifespan.

    Double mutant p38b(df);Sod2(df) has a lifespan of 55.0 days, while single mutant Sod2(df) has a lifespan of 64.0 days, single mutant p38b(df) has a lifespan of 68.0 days and wild type has a lifespan of 49.0 days.
